INTRODUCTION TO BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATION
ONLINE
4 Tuesdays, 11/8/2022 through 11/29/2022
10 am to 1 pm
It is a natural progression to move from admiring plants to wanting to express their beauty in art. This introductory class teaches you how to create a realistic botanical drawing using simple plants from around our homes or local markets. No prior drawing experience required!
Learn to use graphite pencil in a variety of ways to achieve realism. Demonstrations and simple exercises emphasize key principles and drawing methods.
We will closely examine plant parts individually - stems, leaves and blossoms – to better understand their structure and surface details - and then bring them all together for a complete drawing.
Participants are responsible for purchasing their own materials. A materials list and Zoom link will be provided.
